Tender Shoot — Ezekiel 17:22–24 Christmas Tree Christian T-Shirt

Four little Christmas trees, each one drawn a little differently. Cozy, simple, and perfect for the season. But the verse tucked beside them, Ezekiel 17:22–24, tells a much bigger story.

Through Ezekiel, God promised to take a tender shoot from the top of a great cedar and plant it on a high mountain, where it would grow into a mighty tree with birds of every kind nesting in its shade. And then: “All the trees of the forest will know that I the Lord bring down the tall tree and make the low tree grow tall.”

It’s a prophecy of the Messiah, the Branch from David’s line, who arrived not as a towering king but as a tender shoot in a Bethlehem manger. Jesus echoed this very image in His parable of the mustard seed, which grows into a tree where the birds come to nest.

So the next time you plug in the lights on your tree, remember the Shoot that God planted for the whole world to find rest in.
